The total volume of traffic passing a
point or segment of a highway facility in
both directions for one year divided by the number of days in the
year. Normally, periodic daily traffic volumes are
adjusted for hours of the day counted, days of the week, and
seasons of the year to arrive at average annual daily traffic.
