Portable Changeable Message Signs

UNDER CONSTRUCTION. This course will introduce you to the basic principles of effective PCMS message design and PCMS setup. To be effective, a PCMS must communicate a meaningful message that motorists can read and comprehend within a very short time period. Proper PCMS message design and use requires application of both human factors and traffic engineering principles. Guidelines on how to design and use PCMS have been developed through extensive research and field validation.
